Brighton …A Better Community By Design
From big picture blue sky thinking to tiny details like providing a park every 400 metres, Brighton is a model of visionary community and provides opportunities for connecting with neighbours and nature.
Nestled in Holmwood in the east end of Saskatoon, Brighton is spread over 867 acres. Brighton is a true master-planned community with over 82 acres of parkland, 41 acres of ponds, a system of dedicated bike paths, state-of-the-art recreational facilities, and a diverse choice of homes to select from. In the design of the park, a new approach was undertaken to use the pond systems for the collection and storage of rain water. Water stored in the ponds irrigates the community and if water levels drop, the system pulls groundwater for top-ups to help reduce overall water consumption.
The planning experts at Dream call it the Fused-Grid Street Network, which will be used throughout the Brighton community. The street system is literally a fusion of a traditional urban grid system and a loop cul-de-sac system. This means you can enjoy a widespread network of pedestrian pathways, have access to open green spaces, and walk to pocket parks within a few minutes. Driving is that much easier and quicker because of the efficient traffic loop system.
Hectic it isn’t.
Brighton’s deep connection to nature means you’re more likely to be found in a canoe than stuck in traffic. In fact, with 82 acres of parkland, 41 acres of protected wetlands, 6 pocket parks, and pedestrian access to absolutely everything, you might forget about the concept of stress altogether.

Dream Development & Homes by Dream
Dream is the largest residential developer in Western Canada with 10,000 acres of land in Saskatchewan and Alberta under contract, of which approximately 8,500 acres are in nine large master-planned communities at various stages of approval. Our land development arm, Dream Development, and residential development arm, Homes by Dream, work together to create communities that cater to a variety of lifestyles in Canadian city centres.
Community Involvement
Dream believe in the positive effects of innovation and smart design. In other words, they understand that the tallest buildings need strong foundations. Charitable work is no different; they believe the more they can help people, the better our world becomes as a result. They often talk about the importance of building better communities. In fact, it’s their mission statement. And you can’t build better communities without helping those in need! They want to leave behind a better world for our children. And their children. And their children’s children. And the best way to do that is to commit to sustainability now. All actions have consequences, so Dream make sure these consequences create a better world for generations to come.
The Progress Club Saskatoon are extremely grateful that Brighton Community Built By Dream for stepping up as the 2023 Winter Shoot Out Title Sponsor
